HOLYGHOST WAS FOUNDED BY THREE YOUNG WOMEN, WHO TRANSLATE THEIR LOVE AND PASSION FOR FASHION AND STYLE INTO URBAN APPAREL CITY HEROINES.
From its origins in 2010, HolyGhost has become synonymous with relaxed and timeless elegance and its attention to detail. The well-established label is designing a sophisticated high-end ready-to-wear collection. Inspired by a desire to create a distinctive and individual look, Jelena Hofmann and Sedina Halilovic redefine urban style. The importance of HolyGhost’s quality, finest fabrics, perfect fit, European manufacturers and supreme design skills is their main focus. The label is concentrating on essential easy-to-wear pieces like jerseys, blouses, tops and dresses. One of HolyGhosts best buys and the key piece of every collection is their famous overall, jumpsuit collections.
THE ART OF LIFE IS THE ART OF LEAVING THINGS OUT RIGHT.
Designing and developing high-quality apparel for self-confident women, HolyGhost focuses on what is essential: uncomplicated and unconventional looks. HolyGhost combines timeless style with actual trends and the vibe of European cities, incorporating the HolyGhost character. Our creations are alluring and feminine, yet timeless and urban at the same time: apparel for urban city heroines who strive for individuality and independence. There is a heroine in every woman that needs to be hauled out. holyGhost stands for a young, unconventional, individual and urban lifestyle.
Timeless, classic models and accessories made of high-quality materials to outlast any trend. That is what my label stands for.
At the beginning was my own lengthy search for the perfect little black dress. In this process, the idea came up to design such a dress myself and to have it produced with utmost accuracy. Firstly there was one dress, then two and now there are seven dresses.
Seven dresses, which represent my sense of style and finesse. Seven dresses, which accompany their wearers tastefully by day and night. Seven dresses, which evoke a sensation of elegance and nonchalance.
I was born in Libreville, Gabon in 1991, and that is where I spent the first 18 years of my life. I’ve always had a passion for fashion, which is something I get from my mother; she was always crazy about the latest trends, so I was raised in a very fashionable environment.
Whilst growing up, I found the style that best suited me was streetwear; hence the look I have today, which is the result of years of discovery. But somewhere along the way, my vision of fashion took a turn towards luxury products, and I was now at a crossroads – I loved the style I grew up with, but I highly admired what was unfolding in front of me, the quality of the products, the time and work put into making one item, the pursuit of originality and authenticity.
So I decided to try and mix these two fashion extremes in order to create something truly original, and representative of my vision of the industry. I have never been afraid to be different and stand out from the crowd; quite the opposite, I always try to inspire people with my outfits. After all, that’s how new fashion trends are born.
As I mentioned earlier, inspiring people has always been very important to me. It is also a way for me to share my talent, not only as a designer but also as a fashion guru who people can learn from. I consider myself an artist, and fashion is just the means I have decided to use to express how I perceive the world.
Men’s fashion is blooming and I want to be a pioneer in these exciting times. I believe I have what it takes to succeed and create a collection that everyone can appreciate. A collection that will be inspired by my life experience, my travels, the scenery I have had the chance to enjoy, and the emotions I wish to awaken in every RR London customer.
RR London belongs to the new generation of luxury street wear. The materials used are of the best quality and are worked on by the most renowned tailors in Belgrade, Serbia (where everything is assembled).
The colours of my country, Gabon, have inspired the colour palette for this first collection. These are the colours I grew up with, colours such as manganese grey, sand beige, ebony brown… these represent simple colours for me, colours that are not used by everyone today in the fashion industry, but with which I have an emotional connection.
RR London’s goal is, first and foremost, to inspire people, and to help the men’s fashion industry evolve by bringing something new to the table, a youthful breath of fresh air.
Along with business partner and former Prada gal Alexandra Hahn, Serbian-born shoe designer Dusica Sacks opened this futuristic, austere boutique as the first American showcase for her original, edgy creations. The brand has since made a name for itself with the uniqueness of its twice-yearly shoe and handbag collections, as well as for hosting cheeky runway shows during Miami’s Fashion Week. Made from exotic skins and leathers like angora, crocodile, and pony, Dusica shoes are the antithesis of the status heels of Gucci or Manolo; and with such limited quantities produced, you’d be hard pressed to find anyone wearing an identical pair. With reverence to the artistic, handcrafted designs—which are manufactured in Italy—the store displays its wares in a raw setting, with shoes resting on the bare cement floor next to spare wood benches and chairs. There are flat-heeled riding boots made from leather, suede and fur, and sexy, pointy-toed slingbacks in various shades of python skin. Brightly coloured ballet slippers are a year-round staple, while in the accessories department, buttery leather bags tend toward wearable, basic styles like slouchy totes and hobo purses. — Carolyn Murnick New York magazine.
